IBM’s new battery setup taps seawater as elective mineral source

(Reuters) – International Business Machines Corp said on Wednesday it has made a battery arrangement that usages materials expelled from seawater and requires no cobalt, as the race to find elective sources to the expensive mineral increases.

IBM said it has united together with the assessment wing of Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz, battery electrolyte supplier Central Glass and battery creator Sidus for the business improvement of the new structure.
